Our Home

A Corner of British Columbia Worth Finding

Unlike traditional resorts, owner Brian has personally built every unit and much of the resort himself. That hands-on approach shows in every detail, from the cedar sauna to the way each cabin sits in the trees. Rocky Valley Resort sits in the wilderness of British Columbia, surrounded by towering forests, pristine lakes, and mountain views.

The Builder

The Vision Behind Rocky Valley Resort

Rocky Valley Resort is the vision and passion of Brian, our founder and owner, who has dedicated years of hard work and craftsmanship to building this unique retreat. Unlike many resorts, where large construction teams shape the property, Brian has personally built every accommodation unit and most of the resort’s infrastructure by hand. His dedication to quality, sustainability, and attention to detail is what makes Rocky Valley Resort truly one of a kind. From the rustic yet cozy cabins to the beautifully designed lodges, every structure reflects Brian’s deep respect for nature and his commitment to providing guests with a stay worth remembering. His hands-on approach ensures that each space blends seamlessly with the surrounding landscape, creating a harmonious balance between comfort and the wild beauty of British Columbia.

The Story

How It All Started

We discovered this property in late 2022 after returning from Costa Rica due to COVID. Our vision was to create an experiential resort that would transport guests to the heart of the forest while providing all the amenities they could desire. The first year was dedicated to clearing the forest and milling our fir and cedar trees for future construction. My two sons assisted with the building process, allowing us to accomplish an incredible amount of work in a short period of time.

Our Vision

Built for Everyone

The design of the Cottages was inspired by a blend of west coast rustic and modern styles, ensuring each home is unique. Our goal in planning the resort was to cater to both romantic getaways and group bookings and events. We aim to efficiently meet the needs of our guests to ensure that managing the resort is as enjoyable as staying here. We invite you to experience Rocky Valley Resort on Texada Island and hope that your stay is as memorable as it is comfortable.
